It started with a slice of pizza
Ten years ago, our founder, Dave Villineau, was at his son's weekend-long lacrosse tournament — long days, big gaps between games — trying to find a decent slice of pizza in a town where he had no idea what was nearby. Then it hit him: a couple hundred other parents were standing right there with him, all in the same boat, and a pizza place five minutes away would have loved to know they existed.
That was the idea behind mylo hub: help people find what's happening around them, and help the local businesses right there reach the customers already nearby.
Dave went back to his day job, and the idea stayed with him for the next decade. When his corporate career came to an end in 2025, he finally had the chance to build it for real. Today we're a small team in Windham, New Hampshire, and mylo hub is live and growing.
Our mission
Small businesses are what make a town feel like a community. But as we all know, small businesses are getting squeezed from every direction. National chains have marketing budgets no Main Street shop can match. Online giants and social media algorithms make a business pay just to reach the people who already follow it.
mylo hub exists to give local businesses a straight line back to the neighbors right around the corner — no algorithm in the middle charging a toll. We do best when the businesses on mylo do, so we win alongside them, not at their expense.
Towns belong in that story too. A town wants the same straight line to its residents that a local business wants to its customers, which is why towns can join mylo at no cost today. The more residents a town brings onto mylo, the more useful it becomes for every local business nearby — and the whole community gets stronger together.
What mylo hub does
mylo hub shows people what's happening nearby, right now: events, updates, and offers from local businesses and their town, all in one feed that follows wherever you are — not just a "home town" you signed up for once.
Come say hi. See what's happening near you, bring your business along, or tell us about your town.
